CALIFORNIA WITH THE GARRETTS!!!

We thought we'd share some of our thoughts and
pictures from our trip last week.

We had an airplane ride from Salt Lake City to LAX,
during which time Jenica and Hunter made
friends with 2 of the flight attendants who sat down
next to them and talked with them about Disneyland.

After the flight we went to our favorite hotel (Ayres Hotel) and quickly got ready for swimming. We had the pool to ourselves 95% of the time over the 3 days we were there!
The kids loved jumping into the pool, Poppy loved posing, his famous cannonballs and bellyflops and Marci and I loved the Hot tub!

Phil spent lots of time playing with the kids and they loved it!

On Friday we went over to the Disneyland Park.

It was my birthday and Robert got me a badge at the ticket booth, a badge telling everyone it was my special day. I really wanted to get a badge and just see what would happen. Ok...now I know...every Disney cast member who sees the badge wishes you a "Happy Birthday". It was fun once, I probably won't ever do this again! No...I'm sure I won't.

Hunter, Jenica and Carson were soooo good in Disneyland. Marci and Phil got a stroller for both Jenica and Carson (a great idea!).

Hunter walked with the adults and he was awesome!

We were able to go on Dumbo, Mr. Toad''s wild ride and Peter Pan right after going in the park. Then over to Toon Town for some fun.

Later Hunter watched some Jedi training and rode Star Tours with Marci and Robert.

We went on the Jungle cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean (which Jenica said "it didn't freak me out...I want to go again!") Have I mentioned we went to the Tiki Hut? The kids liked the birds!

We also went to the Haunted Mansion and while Marci and Phil went on Splash Mountain (which Phil's pretty proud that he did...) Robert and I went with the kids on Pooh's Honey Pots.

At the end of the day, we all were all
pretty worn out and headed back to
the hotel pool for another dip!

On Saturday we went to
Huntington Beach to play
in the ocean for Phil's
birthday.

The water was soooo cold, but according to
everyone who went in (everyone but me)
it's wasn't too bad after you were numb!

Carson and I put our feet in
and that was good enough for us!

Later we had dinner at Mimi's and then back to the Hotel pool to finish "celebrating" Phil. Wow...30 years old!

We finished our trip with lot's of smiles. We visited Long Beach on our way to the airport and did some running and playing in a park before our airplane trip home.

All in all, it was a great trip with such good little grandchildren. I think they had fun...I know we did!

I LOVE the new camera Robert got me for my birthday. Still have a lot to learn but it's perfect for me.

The pictures on our blog are a mixture of dad's camera and mine. I took the last two (in Long Beach) and a few of the others.

It was a fun time had by all. I just wish everyone could have been there. We missed you - but we did have so much fun. Those little kids were really great and we had lots of fun.

By the way welcome to Mom. She has truly become a TOONE. She has a new camera and she took over 250 pictures on our last trip.
